Every year, National Hug Your Cat Day gives cat lovers a chance to celebrate the feline companions who fill our homes with personality, curiosity, and just a little bit of chaos. Here at Thrifty Cavern, we decided to celebrate the holiday by recognizing two of our most important team members: Trixie and Pixie.
Of course, as you can see from today's featured photo, our Co-CEO Gracie may have interpreted "Hug Your Cat Day" a little more enthusiastically than everyone else.
The Hug Heard Around the Cavern
When Gracie heard it was National Hug Your Cat Day, she immediately sprang into action. Unfortunately for Trixie, Gracie's definition of a "friendly hug" and Trixie's definition of "acceptable workplace behavior" are not exactly the same.
The result?
A photograph that perfectly captures the relationship between our two coworkers.
Gracie looks thrilled with her accomplishment.
Trixie looks like she's already drafting a formal complaint with Human Resources.
In fairness, Trixie tolerates Gracie's endless affection far better than most cats would. Still, we're fairly certain she would prefer that all future celebrations be conducted from a respectful distance.
Meet Trixie: Director of Inventory Control
Every successful organization needs someone who pays attention to the details, and that's where Trixie shines.
As Director of Inventory Control, Trixie keeps a close eye on the treasures that pass through the Cavern. Whether it's vintage collectibles, books, movies, clothing, or unique finds, she somehow always knows when something is out of place.
Her standards are high.
Very high.
If you've ever had a coworker who could spot a misplaced item from across the room, you'd understand exactly why Trixie is so valuable to our operation.
She's organized, observant, and fiercely dedicated to keeping order in the Cavern.
She's also fiercely dedicated to protecting her personal space from overly affectionate dogs.
Meet Pixie: Director of Logistics
While Trixie focuses on inventory, Pixie helps ensure everything gets where it needs to go.
As Director of Logistics, Pixie is the master planner of the feline team. She approaches every task with quiet intelligence and a thoughtful strategy.
If Trixie notices a problem, Pixie is usually already working on the solution.
From coordinating inventory movement to helping keep operations running smoothly, Pixie's steady presence is an important part of what makes Thrifty Cavern work.
She may not seek the spotlight, but behind the scenes, she's helping keep the wheels turning every day.
Why We Love Our Feline Team Members
Cats have a way of making every day a little more interesting.
They're independent, clever, and endlessly entertaining. One moment they're acting like royalty, and the next they're chasing something invisible across the room.
Trixie and Pixie bring those same qualities to the Cavern.
They each have their own personalities, their own routines, and their own ways of helping make our little corner of the world special.
Alongside Gracie and the rest of the Cavern crew, they help create the family atmosphere that makes Thrifty Cavern more than just a store.
It's a community.

As for Gracie, she's still convinced Trixie secretly enjoyed today's celebration.
Trixie has declined to comment.
