Origins and Lore
The legend of Grave Digger began when its creator, Dennis Anderson, a former farmhand and mud-bogger, built a Frankenstein-esque truck out of a scrounged 1951 Chevrolet Panel Wagon and junk parts. The truck got its famous name when Anderson trash-talked competing drivers, stating, "I'll take this old junk and dig you a grave with it". Over the years, the menacing aesthetic evolved into the iconic green-flamed chassis with a giant skull and tombstones that fans know today.
